Colomitos Beach (Playa Colomitos) https://www.puertovallarta.net/what_t… is located 1 kilometer (5 minutes in water taxi) west of Boca de Tomatlan (11 miles / 17 km from the main square of Puerto Vallarta). Colomitos, Cabo Corrientes is a beautiful little yellow sand beach between the clear emerald sea, soft waves, rounded rocks, and a small stream and waterfall that comes out of the lush rainforest in the rainy season and some months afterward.

There are two ways to get to the beach and the small bay. One, the easiest and recommended for those who are not used to walking through the jungle and going up and down slopes, is by the sea in one of the local “pangas”, the water taxis. that leave the pier and estuary in Boca de Tomatlán (they charge a few dollars per person for the trip, in 2021 it is approximately 3 dollars).

The other, shown in this video, is to walk from Boca to Colomitos beach along a path that edges along the Horcones River, then the western part of Boca de Tomatlán’s bay, then goes into the jungle to come out to Colomitos Beach on the other side. This video shows the complete route of how to get to Colomitos from Boca.
