Although it’s known as a novel, A Thorn In Paradise is really a memoir about a young writer, Cris, who ventures off in hopes to find his place in this world. While out seeking adventure and fun, Cris often finds himself somewhat held back by the constant thoughts that plague his mind –from the super negative to the fearful brought on by the hysterics of family relationships and both lovers lost. “I was on this road for happiness –or to re-find what it was I thought I’d lost. The story takes off in Los Angeles as Cris awaits his departure into what seems like uncharted territory in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. He takes you on a joyride from beginning to end as he experiences “transitions” of being in various airports and then alas arriving at his long awaited destination. But it refuses to stop there –anything that can go bad won’t hold back while Cris encounters many interesting people along his voyage, in unlikely situations. Often times he is suddenly taken back, being sucked into the past –reliving encounters with various men whom he shared heart wrenching love affairs with: “The sex was incredible to say the least. With a body like a god, nothing was ever off limits, nothing taboo. His body my playground –soft or rough, raw or tender. I could massage his ass and thighs for days and like hot candle-wax, melt in between them. Need I say more? Dare I go on any further?â€
